Pet Peeve at the Gym

Okay this has nothing to do with finances per se but it must be vented about.  My work out partner hasn’t been able to go to the gym with me due to some issues so I’ve been going after work for the most part.  I decided yesterday that I am going to try to get up earlier in the mornings in order to avoid the crowds after an issue that I had the last few days.   (I haven’t noticed this when I go on lunch breaks but it seems that every time I’ve gone after work I run into this issue)

The issue I’ve been having is when females wear heavy, cloying perfume.  I have EIA (exercise induced asthma) but I am not able to take an inhaler for it—and as long as I’m careful it mostly doesn’t act up.  I have worked out enough that my lungs can handle the stress of running and other cardio exercises without me having an attack.   The last few times though it’s been a lot harder—mostly due to a female near me wearing their perfume so heavy I can taste it.

Now I’m not saying don’t wear perfume because I wear perfume but I try to not put on a huge amount.  I thought it was just me being overly sensitive until it was mentioned by several other ladies after the one with the cloying perfume left the room.  We were all wiping our eyes and I know I went home with a head ache from it.

Of course part of me hopes that it got sprayed on her by a friend who didn’t realize that her friend was going to be working out in an enclosed space with other people.  One can have hope can’t they?

(Sorry about the deviation but this has been bothering me for about a week or so—like I said, its only when I go to the gym during a busy time so I’m going to try to really hard to get up earlier from now on until my work out partner comes back)

I usually work out super late at night (around 2-3 am), and no one else is ever there. Love it that way.

This morning was pretty good for me. I like going on my lunch breaks to give myself more energy for the afternoon but mornings work out pretty good–no one was in the gym I used so I was happy.
